I love 1297's Uhura. So much that I created a new tag on Delicious, just for this fic: cool!uhura. And not only Uhura is fantastic, the relationship between Jim and Bones is quite the thing to behold too. Even though the story is mostly about the friendship between Bones and Uhura, those tiny scenes between Jim and Bones are heart-warming - like them touching noses instead of kissing. Love it!
They're dancing, he realizes, swaying to a song that isn't actually playing. And this doesn't make sense, he knows, yet somehow it does. "I'm not trying to fix you, you know?" he says, fingers pressing into her back.
And she smiles. "I know. I'm not broken."
