katikat... when people mangle the word yaoi. I've seen it spelled in all possible ways from yoai to yayoi and what not and it always makes me want to scratch out my eyeballs.
Seriously, if you (the general you) don't know what yaoi stands for, use gay manga/anime instead. It works just as well and it won't make you look like an idiot. Or use the term Boy's Love or BL, the common term for yaoi manga/anime in Japan.
And for those, who are curious about what yaoi stands for, it's "Yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi," which basically means "No climax, no point, no meaning."
I'm not trying to play the educated one here. This, it's all from the internet, you just have to google it.
