Vol. 23: I have no idea what's happening anymore. There's a twist after a twist after a twist and I'm starting to lose my way in them. So, there are two Shaolans and two Sakuras? But I still don't get how Shaolan and Watanuki are related. They're brothers? It's really intriguing but, uh, I need a map. Or maybe a character chart! And what's with Fuuma and the Twins?

Vol. 24: I would love to read more about boy!Toya and boy!Yukito. They were so cute. But now I don't get who Shaolan and Sakura are. Are they actually their own parents? As in time travel? Hm... But man, all those people melting away, that was scary!

I know just how you feel! I was old school CLAMP, so I read all their original series, and then Tsubasa was this huge insanity.

This is what I got from reading when I read it. (I finished it awhile ago when it ended in Japan).

1) CCS Sakura and Syaoran get together, have Syaoran (who does have a real name, but he's called after his father for most of the series). He's the real Syaoran who was trapped by Reed during the whole beginning where his clone was running around with Sakura. When he was a child, he traveled to another world and met TRC Sakura, the princess, and was unable to save her before her birthday. He makes his wish and gets sealed away.

He is cloned by FWR. And it's his clone you see running around with Sakura at the start of Tsubasa.

2) Watanuki is sort of like an alternate Syaoran (Tsubasa). Syaoran (Tsubasa) makes a wish to turn back time to save Sakura, and when he does this - Watanuki is created to fill the gap in the world that Syaoran (Tsubasa) leaves.

The clones of Sakura and Syaoran are reincarnated at the end, and yes - eventually grow up to become CCS Sakura and CCS Syaoran, get together, and have TRC Syaoran/Tsubasa - the same person who is locked away by FWR for much of TRC. Then they seal themselves into the glass tube so they can help their child later in TRC.


It's a mindscrew, really it is. It was very confusing to read due to all the duplicate names. So here's the easy way:

TRC Sakura #1 - the original. Her real name is Tsubasa (Female)

TRC Sakura #2/Clone/CCS Sakura - the clone & the clone reincarnated.

TRC Syaoran #1 - The original, son of TRC Sakura #2/Clone Sakura/CCS Sakura and TRC Syaoran #2/Clone Syaoran. His real name is Tsubasa (Male).

TRC Syaoran #2/Clone/CCS Syaoran - the clone & the clone reincarnated, Tsubasa's (Male) father.

Watanuki Kimihiro - Tsubasa (Male)'s replacement in his own space and time for making a wish to turn back time and remove himself from it.
