Official synopsis of Supernatural's S6

SUPERNATURAL: Season six will be a season of mystery and shadow. Heaven and Hell have been left in complete disarray since the apocalyptic events of season five. And now, monsters, angels and demons roam across a lawless and chaotic landscape. And so Dean Winchester, who has retired from hunting and sworn never to return, finds himself being pulled back into his old life – pulled back by none other than Sam Winchester, who has escaped from Hell. The two reunite to beat back the rising tide of creatures and demon-spawn, but they quickly realize that neither are who they used to be, their relationship isn’t what it used to be, and that nothing is what it seems. Man, I do hope that they won't open another rift between the brothers. After all the rebuilding done in S5, I hoped that Sam and Dean would be finally on the same page again. Oh well, we'll see. But it does sound awesome, doesn't it? And it's a great way to bring back Castiel - hopefully! *crosses fingers*

That's the first thing I thought of. I'd like to see him make a few appearances, even if he isn't a series regular.

This sounds very exciting to me. I can see lots of possibilities. It really does mirror season 1.

It is exciting, isn't it? I mean, I would be content with the level of awkwardness between the brothers that we saw in S1, anything more would be rather painful, IMHO. But I am interested in what they'll come up with. Also, it's great that there will be more stand-alone, close-ended episodes, not so much serialized stuff. I think that serialized shows tend to lose momentum during hiatuses etc.

I hope this also means that Crowley might show up again sometime. I love the man who plays him. He does such a fantastic job with that character.

I'm hoping that rather than a rift, it'll be more like S1, with the brothers having to get to know one another again after a painful separation.

That's what I hope too. As much as I love the show, I'm tired of the guys fighting with each other. I want them on the same side, being BROTHERS, not some distant strangers who don't see eye to eye.

And relationship between brothers, hard to say, but please not the same as in season 4.

I'm excited about Castiel returning. I hoped that they wouldn't kill him off. I would be more willing to never see Bobby than Castiel. The nerdy angel really grew on me :)
