Chuck renewed, other shows dropped...

NBC renewed Chuck for S4 (13 episodes), while ABC renewed V for S2 (13 episodes) and Fox renewed Lie to Me for S3 (13 episodes) and Human Target for S2 (13 episodes) - a lot of 13 ep pick-ups there.

On the other hand, ABC canceled Romantically Challenged, Scrubs, Better Off Ted and FlashForward. My condolences to their fans :(

I'm bummed about FlashForward. I'll miss John Cho. He's my favorite part of the series. Now I have to decide if it's worth watching the episodes I've been saving to marathon. It's hard to get excited about them when I don't know if there will be enough closure. *sigh*

I've never watched the show, but I think that it's too bad that the writers weren't told sooner so that they could've made the season finale a series finale.

I wonder how it'd have been if SPN had been picked up by one of the major networks. On the one hand, bigger audience and maybe bigger budget and more leeway on the storyline but OTOH, they probably wouldn't have got this far, the possibility of being cancelled even greater I think.

I think that SPN wouldn't have lasted this long. The CW is kinda en exception because they air their own shows, WB/UPN based stuff and they earn money from international releases too, they use the CW just as a platform for the US viewing, and that's how they stay afloat. I read it in an article somewhere that contemplated how the CW could even exists with such low ratings.
