Review: Smith has a great talent for horror - too bad that she slips into teenage angst and drama so often. I'm fascinated by the characters of Stefan and Damon and I would have preferred if Smith focused more on them and developed them more. Too bad that most of the book is about Elena running around the town in the night, living her existential angst. The book is rather simply written, so I didn't really feel the emotions, I didn't really connect with the characters - especially with Elena I just couldn't connect at all, I didn't really understand what made her tick. But Stefan and Damon were rather fascinating and for those two Smith deserves both thumbs up!
