I had an idea for a longer fic set after the S6/possibly series finale, but since it doesn't look like the story will come to be, I decided to at least post this tiny piece of it... Unbeta'ed!

Of Fathers and Sons

"Lied to them," Colby mumbled.

"Huh?" Roger said as he tucked Colby in. When he picked the younger man up at the hospital, he refused to take Colby to his flat – no way would he leave Colby alone when he was so hopped up on Vicodin – and there was room enough for one recuperating FBI agent at Roger's house.

Colby turned slowly, favoring his broken ribs. "Told them you were my father, at the hospital. Don't mind?"

Throat tight, Roger sat down heavily, oddly shaken. "No," he whispered, looking down at the half-asleep man. "I don't mind."

Can you tell that I loved the connection between Colby and Roger? \o/
