Supernatural 511
Jan. 22nd, 2010 09:52 amYou know what I find most interesting? That the wraith pumped up Sam's aggression - but Dean it made really crazy. It was a great distinction, the difference between Sam and Dean.
Sam turns his guilt and depression and all his bad feelings into anger and violence. Dean's brain just checks out and he becomes helpless. Makes you wonder what would happen if those two were forced to confront their feelings. Sam would make the world burn, he would turn it all outwards. Dean would turn everything inside and break under the weight of it all. No wonder that Dean can't talk and ruminate about his feelings, that he buries it all. If he didn't, it would destroy him. Sam's soft on the outside but he has a diamond hard core that nothing can't break, he can be twisted, but not broken. Dean looks hard on the outside, but he has a really soft heart that he needs to protect no matter what or else it turns to dust. I'm really glad that they keep this continuity.
And yay for Jon Gries! I've loved that guy since The Pretender!
