Just a few quick, non-spoilery thoughts:

You know, as much as I love the slash between Callen and Sam, this ep felt... flat after NCIS' great episode. I don't know why. It was nice to see Sam so worried and them, as in Callen and Sam, having a few heart-to-heart-s but the episode itself? Nah.

I like Chris O'Donnell a lot and maybe it's not his fault but the writers' but I just can't see him as the "chameleon" he should be. I mean, compare his performance to Michael T. Weiss' in The Pretender. Chris is a great woobie, sure, but he lacks Michael's ability to switch from one "mode" to another, from innocent to devious.

So, the main draw for me - where NCIS:LA is concerned - remains the underlying Sam/Callen slash. But the writers should give us a story that would actually prove that Callen is this great, amazing legend - and soon, I would say. So far, it's not all that believable.
