"So you washed your hands of Tony?" Gibbs asked.

"Like I said, you wouldn't understand. You're not a father," the old man growled at him.

"I had a daughter. She was killed when she was eight," Gibbs said quietly. "If I could have her back I wouldn't give a damn who she slept with or what the hell job she did – I'd just tell her how much I love her and how proud of her I am."

Wow. Simply wow. The best Gibbs/DiNozzo fic that I've ever run across. Gibbs is still Gibbs and Tony is still Tony, the author doesn't make them OOC, she doesn't bend them so that they would fit her story, she takes the way they are portrayed and turns it into an amazing fic. Wow!

Oo, I was wondering when you'd rec this one! (Since, naturally, I knew it had to warrant a rec here. :p) I read this story awhile back, and I can't wait to give the podfic a listen. Have you read any of Xanthe's other stories?

I kept pushing this one back because the version that I downloaded was awfully low on volume. I went back and there was no indication that the mods replaced the file so I thought that the bad one would have to do. The author herself then told me that it was replaced. I think I will suggest to the podmods that when they replace a file, they should leave an ETA with the date and the reason for the replacement. I almost skipped this podfic because of the low quality. The replaced file is much, much better.

I know Xanthe's SGA d/S verse, though I like Helen's mirror verse with sub!Sheppard and dom!McKay much better.
