Don't worry - I don't think it's fair to expect Supernatural to hold onto too much of the Vampire Diaries' premiere audience, especially considering Supernatural pretty much just has its core audience. 3.39 million is higher than the average last year, and would have been the 5th-highest number of viewers last year. Also, Supernatural out-rated 90210, Melrose Place, AND a two-hour America's Next Top Model in total viewers and A18-49 this week, which is nothing to sneeze at.
I am a bit nervous about how Fringe coming into the timeslot will affect Supernatural's ratings, just because I think there's a bit of crossover appeal there.
