5 characters I hate most

I saw this in someone else's LJ, so...

Five characters I hate most:
1. Bela Talbot (Supernatural) - OMG, how I hate this character. No really. You can't even imagine the depth of my contempt for her. I can't remember ever hating a TV character so much. What an arrogant bitch!

2. Jennifer Keller (Stargate: Atlantis) - oh, the Mary-Sue. Mid-twenties and she was already the CMO of an alien outpost! Two of the main characters had the hots for her! The only lesbian on the show had the hots for her! In barely half a season she learned stick-fight enough to kick Wraith-butt! She got kidnapped on regular basis - in the show and in the official books too! Urgh.

3. Owen Harper (Torchwood) - what an arrogant, condescending dick. I never understood what Tosh saw in him. He walked all over her and she got up and went back for more. Not even his own death made him more likable. Yikes.

4. Zack Addy (Bones) - I know that there are people who loved him to pieces, who found him sweet and cute and whatever else, but I couldn't stand his character. He was whiny and obnoxious and the show turned out to be much better once they got rid of him (I didn't agree with the way they did it, but it did make me happy).

5. Xander Harris (Buffy) - what did people see in him? I have no clue. He was annoying like hell and in a lot of ways he reminded me of Owen in TW. What a jerk.

While I agree with you about #1, I simply cannot agree with you about #5. Xander was one of the best characters on Buffy. He grew in ways that you would not have thought capable when the show started, and Nicholas Brendon is just brilliant and I wish to god he'd find a vehicle worthy of his talents. And even though Xander was often the butt of many of the jokes, there was a depth to him that I have yet to see replicated in any of my favourite TV boyfriends.

But each to their own. I have very little love for Rose Tyler, even though most of fandom loves her to pieces and I was rather pleased when they Zack and brought in Sweets as the ingenue on Bones.

Oh yes, I hate her from the very bottom of my heart. Some characters I find annoying, but her I really, truly HATE. As much as I love the guys, if she stayed on the show, I would have considered dropping it. That's how deep my contempt is for her.

I agree that it's to each its own. I couldn't stand Xander. The way he treated first Willow and then Cordelia, the way he didn't tell Buffy that Angel could be saved, the way he complained and whined... Ish! X( I do admit that he grew as a character but for me, it was too little, too late.

I agree about Sweets and Zack. Sweets is awkward in a sweet way - no pun intended - Zack was simply obnoxious.

And I admit that I don't like Dr. Who in general, I find the show ridiculous and not in a funny way, so I can't say about Rose...

So much word on Owen- in the first ep he essenitally drug rapes that girl he meets in the bar, and it doesn't get any better from then on.

Bela annoyed me too, but it was her accent more than anything (I don't know if the actress was English or not, but it sounded fake.) At the beginning Sophie in Leverage really reminded me of her, but luckily she is loads better!

Zack is obnoxious, and not that interesting a character. Sweets, however, is delightful!

I'm a huge Doctor who fan and have been all my life. I've seen Doctors and companions come and go, but no one has ever annoyed me as much as Rose, not even that most annoying creature known as Doctor #6, who was dire!

I hope you don't mind a random comment. I agree with you so much about Rose and about Sweets.

I couldn't even watch Donna's season of Doctor Who because of the Rose cameos. Watching how badly Martha got treated was painful enough.

I liked Zach, but Sweets has become my favorite character on Bones. They need more interaction between him and Gordon Gordon. ^_^

I never had an attraction to Owen, either. I agree with your assessment of him. I did like Zach, but not to the extent that most Bones fans did. I like that he still has occasional cameos. Now if they could just stop messing up Angela, and give us more Cam. ♥

My most hated character is probably Rose Tyler. RTD broke his own rules just to make his little Mary Sue happy. Forget about what he did to Ianto. I'll never forgive him for what he did to Martha, constantly reminding the Doctor and the audience how inferior she was to Rose.

Owen was just... blah. Never understood the hoopla about him *shrugs*

And Bela - I hate, simply hate female characters like her, all condescending in the "oh, you poor boys, leave it to the tough girl" style *shudders* I freely admit that I considered dropping the show because of her. She totally ruined S3 for me. I never got back my fannish obsession with the show, even after they killed her.

Horny!Angela is so not my thing. I mean, what she was doing... if she was a man, someone would have slapped her with a sexual harassment complaint already!
