My boss bought the publishing rights for Brent Weeks' "Night Angel" trilogy and he asked me if I wanted to translate it or not. I'm not sure. I have so many other books to work on, especially Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden books and some other series... I will read some more of it and we will see.

Speaking of series - I inherited yet another translation! Tom Lloyd's "Stormcaller" series. Why, oh why?! Not only is it huge but it means that I will have to read the first book that's already been translated to get the "feel" of it, to catch phrases and the tone... *sigh* And when I asked my boss why me, why always me? He said that it was because I was thorough and he could count on me doing a good job. It's great to feel appreciated but why in such a way!

Other than that, I went through the publishing plan for this year with my boss and there are three Drizzt Do'Urdens (two new ones, one re-translation of an old Czech version), Stormcaller 2, Hines' "Goblin War", two parts of Brust's Vlad Taltos series (one new, one re-translation) and Patricia Briggs' "Mooncalled" on the list for me. And that's just preliminary. It isn't bad, just the Stormcaller irks me really bad!

And I received the books that Amazon.co.uk sent off on Monday - wow, really fast, isn't it? - Sabine C. Bauer's "Trial by Fire" and Perry Moore's "Hero". But I decided to read some manga first. I need a change of pace...

Also - hi there, new layout!

That's what happens when you're so good at your job, people always ask - and expect - more of you :-)

Also, I hope you'll enjoy Hero as much as I did; I didn't really know what to expect when I got into that novel, but I really enjoyed what I found.

Just think of all the people who will be able to read it once you've translated it.:)

Maybe someday you'll be translating my book. That would be awesome.:)

I'm really looking forward to Hero. It sounds so intriguing and... new/original! \o/

The thing is that when you take over another's translation, you will never match it and then the readers complain - that's why I never read reviews of my work. Less heartache that way.

And that would be awesome if I could translate your book! \o/ My boss publishes sci-fi/fantasy stuff.
