I finally, finally got around to watch WMC, ep 1x13...

So, the series finale... It was good, not excellent but good. I liked the fact that they did catch the Kiss-Me-Not-Killer, that they at least finished this arc before the show was canceled. Though I thought that the killer would be someone Lindsay knew and not a complete stranger, that would have had a much greater impact. I mean, I know that the plot was pretty much bound by the books but still...

I liked those tiny continuity moments like Jill mentioning Cindy being shot or Tom's wife being a kindergarten teacher and thus leaving kiddie tidbits all around Tom's office... Other than that, it didn't really blow me away but it was a good finale. Lindsay even made peace with her father.

And thus another show ended, canceled after only 13 eps. I have to say that WMC is a passable show, not necessary something I would have to own on DVD but it was nice. The eps before the strike were better than the eps after the strike though - you could tell that the original writers left the show because suddenly, the eps were a bit dragging, they were a lot less tight than before and the dynamics between the girls changed too, unfortunately not for the better.

The highlights of this show?
- Angie Harmon as Lindsay Boxer - she's a really beautiful woman and a good actress and I love her voice. I don't think that I would necessarily get along with her in RL (she's a big pro-Bush agitator) but here, I was able to separate the character from the actress quite easily.
- Rob Estes as Tom - I've liked him since Silk Stalkings so...
- Joe Flanigan guest starring in two eps as an FBI agent - Joe in a suit, huzzah, huzzah!
- Joel Gretsch as Pete - the man is hot!
- All the femslash possibilities between Lindsay and Cindy in the first half of the show and tiny bits of Jill/Cindy in the last two eps.

This is probably the last time that I'll talk about this show. As I said, it was a good series but I didn't like it enough to buy it on DVD. But if you like cop/crime shows with strong and likable female characters, go for it!
