So, we know that someone, a demon, owns Dean's contract, owns his soul, right? Well, I bet that it's that player in the West. If he had Dean, he could one-up Sam, force Sam to do his bidding. I think that in a power struggle between them, Dean would be a great leverage *ponders*

It would be, wouldn't it? I mean, even the demons know that Dean is Sam's weakness. And that would explain a lot too. I mean, the Crossroads demon wouldn't be cowed by just anybody, right?
