Dean actually liked Mrs Moore, the high school psychologist, even though he would rather die a painful death than admit it. She was kind and gentle and she smiled a lot. She reminded him of his mom.

That's why he decided to actually answer her questions, to leave his usual attitude at the door…

"Who are you, Dean?"

That was easy. "John Winchester's son…"

"And?"

"Sammy's brother…"

"And?"

Dean frowned, more confused than angry. "What are you asking?"

She smiled gently, almost sorrowfully. "I'm asking who you are. Just you, yourself. As an individual."

Dean stammered. "I… I don't know."

oh Dean. Lovely little drabble hon. The only, small, nitpick I might have is that Dean probably would refer to Mary as mom instead of mum. Especially in... what the late eightes, early ninties he went to highschool? But that's nothing really.

Again lovely and I really want to hug Dean... and then smack him and make him stop tying his life so much into Sam and John.

Oh dude, it's really nothing. Just a nitpick. In America it's way more common to call your mother mom than mum, especially in the midwest. *blush* sorry.
