Sam frowns, he’s half asleep. "Wha…?"
"You know, the… praying." Dean sounds uncomfortable and unsure.
The younger Winchester turns his head towards the dark silhouette lying in the bed next to his. "When I left for college," he admits quietly, trying to see Dean’s expression, but his brother’s face is hidden in shadows. "I prayed to God to keep you and Dad alive, to keep you safe."
The silence that settles over them is loud, almost deafening.
"Oh."
