Of comments - a poll!

lostandalone22 said made me wonder. I always considered comments to LJ entries a public thing (like posts in a mailing list). If I wanted to keep them private, I would screen them. But now, I'm not sure what my friends think. Do you mind when other people read comments to your own entries in your own LJ? Do you consider them a personal thing, a private conversation that nobody should read?
I'm just really curious...
