Until Shawn was 14 years old, he believed that his father had all the answers and even though Shawn grumbled and whined, he always did what Henry Spencer wanted him to do. Eventually.

But then his mother left, without saying good-bye, without explaining…

So Shawn asked and asked, he asked the one man who always knew everything. Why did mom leave? Where did she go? When is she coming back?

But for the first time, Henry Spencer had no explanation, no words of wisdom.

In that moment, Shawn lost his faith in the infallibility of his father. And something broke.
