Playing hooky
Dec. 18th, 2006 04:22 pmI finished translating McIntosh's books and now I've started editing my translation. That's the stage I really hate. You have to be extra careful now and watch out for all your mistakes in grammar, translation and stylistics. One page can take up to 15 minutes to re-do and correct. You have to concentrate really hard and after a time, the lines literally swim in front of your eyes. If I wanted to finish at least one book before Christmas, I would have to edit seven chapters a day, which is approximately 42 pages. Ouch. So, I ended doing five, 28 pages, 2/3 of the stuff I had planned. But I simply couldn't do more. I feel bad for playing hooky, I always feel guilty when I don't fulfill the "quota" I set for myself. Yeah, I have a hamster running in a wheel for brain XP
