katikatI'm not sure if one can post these challenges to their own LJ before completing the whole sheet or not but what the heck:
Fair warnings: These ficlets are not beta'ed but I hope that one can't make a lot of mistakes in 5 sentences X). And these shorties are het, so beware! Spoilers for Mai HiME? Almost none I would say :)
# 01 "Comfort": Glaring at the passing stewardess and daring her to make a sound, Akira wrapped her arm closer around the shoulders of the exhausted boy who lay curled up on the seat next to her and brought him closer until he rested with his head against her shoulder, his breath warming the side of her neck reassuringly; Takumi sighed contently and went on sleeping undisturbed, the hum of the plane's engines a lullaby in the background.
# 02 "Kiss": Frantically, Akira searched the clothes of the brown-haired boy who laid curled up on the ground, face etched with pain and hands pressed to the chest, until she found the small white plastic case with red and white pills and put two of them into her mouth to pass them to her beloved in a life-saving kiss; Takumi, you idiot...
# 03 "Soft": Akira sat on the edge of the hard plastic chair, gripping Takumi's hand, so soft and warm compared to her hard, calloused fingers, clammy from nervousness, as the boy lay sleeping in the large hospital bed, looking frailer and smaller than usual; reassuring herself that no intruder was in sight, Akira laid her head on her beloved's chest and closing her eyes she listened to the gentle thu-thump of his heart.
# 04 "Pain": "This shouldn't be happening, shouldn't be happening, everything was fine, just fine, he shouldn't be hurting, no pain, they said it was okay, they said... no pain, everything was just fine... DOCTOR!"
# 05 "Potatoes": Akira watched attentively as Takumi peeled the potatoes, cut them into small pieces, then threw them into the frying pan and added the rest of the ingredients - she was determined to do better the next time she was in order to cook; and better she did: to the eternal gratitude of the 5th fire department, the fire extinguisher was enough this time.
