Last Day of the Year
Dec. 31st, 2015 03:30 pmSo, this year. As far as fandom goes, so much has changed for me in 2015.
I dropped all my shows. All of them. I don't watch anything live anymore. I just can't be bothered because it all feels "same old, same old" to me. There were a few new shows that I decided to check out on DVD later on - Blindspot, Limitless, Rosewood - but there was none that I had to see ASAP.
I was also really disappointed by most movies that I saw in the cinema this year. Not one really overwhelmed me with awe. Some were really good - San Andreas, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, The Transporter: Restart - but most were terrible disappointments - Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Hopefully, next year will be better.
I started reading a LOT more. This year, I finished 162 books! That's the most I've ever read in a year, go me. And through books, I found a new fandom that I fell really hard for...
Shadowhunters, my Discovery of the Year, so to speak. The books are okay, but not really all that well written. But the world that Cassie Clare built, the characters, those are truly wonderful and I fell so incredibly hard for them. For the biggest part of the year, it was my one and only fandom. Hopefully, the new show, starting Jan. 12 2016, won't disappoint.
And that was my fannish year in a nutshell...
