State of My Shows...
Nov. 20th, 2013 10:20 pmIs it just me or are the shows this season particularly uninspired and bland? Nothing really holds my interest, nothing sets my heart aflutter - with small exceptions here and there - nothing makes me flail and go all, THIS! THISSSS!
Let's take it day by day...
Sunday:
Revenge: Only interested in Patrick and Patrick/Nolan. Lack of Patrick = lack of me caring.
The Mentalist: The hunt for Red John's finally coming to an end. Good. Though it feels way too convoluted, to be honest. Good for passing the time.
Witches of East End: A more boring version of Charmed.
Monday:
Almost Human: I like the characters but the show hasn't wow'd me so far. I felt the same way about Fringe, though, and I ended up loving it, so I'm not giving up.
Sleepy Hollow: Again, intriguing characters and mythology, still, 'out of sight, out of mind.'
The Blacklist: Love Red, the rest... I don't know, Lizzie and her 'issues' don't really hold my interest.
Tuesday:
Brooklyn Nine Nine: Some bits are hilarious, mostly though... It's definitely not as sharp witted as TBBT.
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD: What happened? This should've been THE show of the season and yet, it's so bland. But I hear it's getting slowly better, so I will stick with it. The characters are very uninspired, though.
NCIS: Still stuck in S10.
NCIS:LA: Good for passing the time. Very few good scenes with Sam and G. A lot of focus on Deeks and Kensi, which is not bad but can you really see it going well with these two? Train wreck in the making.
Supernatural: Bored. I loved Angel!Cas. Human!Cas is boring as hell. I can't believe I'm saying this but can he go away?
Wednesday:
Arrow: Still loving Oliver/Felicity/Diggle and the action. Everything else is... eh. Is it the "Colton Haynes Effect"?
The Tomorrow People: If the show were focused on John Young and his love/hate relationship with Jedikiah, the guerrilla war of the Tomorrow People against Ultra, it would be my favorite new show of the year. But Stephen is as dumb as a pile of bricks and boring as hell.
Thursday:
Elementary: I like it better than S1, I'm glad we finally got rid of the Irene Adler/Moriarty clustercrap - I hated that storyline. Good for passing the time but not "Watch ASAP" material.
White Collar: Still stuck in S4. I don't like how Peter handled the thing with Neal and I honestly don't blame Neal for going darkside.
Friday:
Dracula: Very low ratings, certain cancellation. Will wait for all 13 eps to air before watching. I hear the friendship between Dracula and Van Helsing is interesting, though.
Grimm: Still stuck in S2 and plodding through the Juliette clustercrap of doom.
Haven: I still love it, especially the friendship between Duke and Nate, and Jennifer. But the whole thing with William... eh.
I think that's all... Suddenly, I got a craving to watch Princess Fantaghiro again and her fight for Romualdo. Maybe that will, in the immortal words of Sherlock Holmes, 'cleanse my palate.'

Date: 2013-11-21 07:59 pm (UTC)Haven - William intrigues me. How are he and Audrey connected?
Grimm - The beginning of season two is a bit of a slog, but the latter half is much, much better. And Juliette becomes useful.

Oh, in an entry, I was talking about the Italian fairy tale Fantaghiro - gosh, you would just adore Fantaghiro and Romualdo. They were such an amazing, perfect couple. And stunning too!
