Remember the "Renovations" podfic written by joosetta and read by anatsuno that I rec'd yesterday? The fic is just the first part in a series of 4 standalone stories.

"Renovations!verse" by joosetta | Arthur/Eames | In which Eames builds a nest and (accidentally) lures Arthur into it. | 10.600 words

He wanted to leave as well. Being in the flat was upsetting precisely because Eames had built it for Arthur, or, if not for, certainly because of. The first time, when they had woken up all dry mouthed and achy on a mattress on the floor, and Arthur hadn’t left; he hadn’t said, ”Let’s never speak of this again.” Instead, he’d had breakfast in the wreck of the kitchen and let Eames fuck him again and again. After that, Eames had definitely been building for Arthur, like he was laying a trap, making the flat the nicest place Arthur could possibly wake up in after a one night stand; trying to turn all those one night stands into something more.

This is so sweet and feel!good I want to roll in the pretty and just... just go all "Aww!" at the boys. I love mushy stories like that *happy sigh*

Rian Johnson's (Brick, Looper) 2nd movie with a teeny tiny JGL cameo. Seriously, you blink and you miss him :P And featuring other actors from Brick like Noah Segan and Nora Zehetner in small parts. The movie itself is about...

... Bloom, Penelope and Stephen and their nutty heist adventures that they undergo with their Japanese "I never speak" friend Bang Bang. The movie felt like a fairy tale, unreal and almost dreamy. In that regard, it reminded me of Brick - and there were other similarities. In the end, Bloom got what he wanted but the price was rather high. I actually cried like a baby when Bloom realized what Stephen had done.

I adored both Bloom - a sweet, sweet man, yet always so sad - and Penelope. Penelope was simply awesome. I loved the bit where she blew up her castle. Or that she always crashed her car. How socially awkward she was yet how brilliant! She was my favorite character! Stephen was quite annoying. But Bang Bang was hilarious, like when she broke the palm tree in half!

The film itself was a tad too long and too slow in places. I liked Brick better. This one felt a bit too... convoluted. You never knew what was a con and what wasn't and it was hard to keep that apart. But it was great to see it set in Prague! Overall, it wasn't a bad movie but I wasn't really wow'd.
