That looks interesting: ABC developing Finn & Sawyer.

Finn & Sawyer is described as "an adventure-themed reinvention that revolves around the two famed literary characters who re-meet as young men in their 20s and form an investigative firm in a bustling and steampunk New Orleans."

Sounds quite original, doesn't it? I hope that it'll come to be, that it won't end up the way 17th Precinct did.

Book #37

"Dark Blood (Tristopolis #2)" by John Meaney

♦ ♦ ♦ ♦

3.5 stars. Incredible world-building and likable characters that unfortunately don't get explored enough. In my opinion, the author sacrifices character richness to style. You would have to read it to understand what I mean by style - this is an alternate universe unlike any other I've ever encountered in a book. So yeah, the ideas are brilliant, I just wish the author built more of a connection between his characters and the reader.

The book ends with a terrible cliffhanger and considering it was published in 2009 and since then nothing, it doesn't look like a 3rd book will ever come to be.

"Sort of Revolution" by pyrimidine | Arthur/Eames | Eames finds out that Arthur isn't a morning person. | 1300 words

Over the next few days, Eames sees Arthur button up his shirt wrong three times in a row, stumble over nothing, knock over glasses when trying to extract them from the evil clutches of the second-level shelves, and attempt to thread a sock through his belt-loops. It’s a bit like watching a newborn colt trying to find its footing. And every day, without fail, he bangs his hip against the dresser. There’s a spectacular bruise blooming over his skin, which turns Eames’s crank a bit to be perfectly honest.

But that’s beside the point, he tells himself. Repeatedly. Then he’s pretty sure he gets a slipped disc while trying to move the dresser three feet to the left.

Fluff pure. No angst whatsoever. Sweet feel!good stuff. I want to roll in the pretty!

Lookie what I just ordered:

Alien Nation! Amazon UK dropped the price from Ł29 to mere Ł10 pounds! I have had it on my wishlist for years, waiting for the price to drop. How awesome is that?

Man, I loved the show so much. I was so smitten with Gary Graham at that time. I can't wait to see it again! \o/ Any Alien Nation fans on my flist? I need you to fangirl with me!

Dick Like Me

Tommy: I don't know what I did wrong. I'm kinda new at being Korean.

I loved this episode because it addressed one of the greatest paradoxes of our society: people get offended if you don't accept their belonging to a certain ethnic/race/religious/etc. group - yet they get offended if you ask about it too. I loved that Dick and his people considered it absolute nonsense because to them, all humans looked the same. It was actually a great perspective.

Assault with a Deadly Dick

Sally: Dick, I've been telling you, this planet is in a bad neighborhood.

Tommy: Do you think we should be bothering god over a basketball game?
Coach: Well, this is important.
Tommy: Yeah, but the other team is praying too. Oh, so our god is stronger than their god.
Coach: There's only one god, Solomon.
Tommy: Well, am I the only one seeing a conflict of interest here?
Coach: Yes!

Father Knows Dick

Dick: Tomorrow there will be a pop quiz on the effects of thermal dynamics. Remember it's a pop quiz. If you'll study, I'll know.

Dick: You've got a thing in your head.
Harry: A thing?
Dick: A Cranial Micro Receiver chip.
Harry: *In* my head.
Dick: But it's not in the part you use, it's in your brain.

2 more eps to go and I'm done with S1! I'm so glad I bought this on DVD!
