Gnomeo and Juliet
Aug. 24th, 2011 11:32 pmA neat little story, this Gnomeo and Juliet fairy tale, featuring James McAvoy as Gnomeo and Emily Blunt as Juliet.
My favorite character was Featherstone, though, the slightly unhinged pink plastic flamingo. And Shroom, Gnomeo's pet mushroom, that one was sweet. And then there was William Shakespeare's statue and its glee when the lawn mower went kaboom - it's funny that James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart, voicing the statue, were in this movie together and James then took over the part of Charles from Patrick Stewart. Oh, the world is so small...
There was one point where I went all teary-eyed, though, and it was when Featherstone told Gnomeo and Juliet his tale. As funny as Featherstone was, his loneliness made me so sad...
Oh, did you know that this movie is one of Disney's biggest hits? It cost only $37 mil. to make and it earned almost $200 mil. worldwide!
