Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Unleash the Night" made me go "Woah!". And it also made me fall in love with the author. She goes right to the point, no long description and her characters are simply lovable.

This book is the 7th or 8th story in her "Dark-Hunters" series. So why did I bought this one and not the first book? Well, the main hero of this one is a Were and I think all of you know how much I love stories about were-creatures. And even though this is a het romance, I totally fell for it!

Wren Tigarian is a tigard - half snow leopard, half white tiger. He lives in Sanctuary, a bar where he is protected from other members of the were-races and other hunters by their laws: In a Sanctuary, nobody can kill. And why does he need to hide this way? Because he is considered an abomination since he is a mix breed. He tries to blend with his surroundings, he has no friends except for the monkey Marvin and whenever offended he attacks. But then he meets Marguerite Goudeau, the daughter of a senator, and even though humans are off limits for the Weres, he falls in love with her. But there is someone who wants Wren dead...

I must say that the characterization is amazing. Wren with his anger and vulnerability, Maggie so dependent on her father but wanting not to be... And the secondary characters! Wow. I loved the brothers Van, Fury and Fang. I loved the forbidden relationship between the bearswan Aimee and the wolf Fang. I loved to see characters from other books in this series popping up on all sides!

And then there were three characters that didn't get much space in the book but totally got my attention: Acheron, Savitar and Nick Gautier. Nick so vulnerable and hurt and Acheron and Savitar so fascinating and mysterious. Acheron was only mentioned and Nick wasn't there until the very last part but Savitar... wow. Surfer clothes, tattoos and a floating island? Mysterious powers and all? *bright eyed*

I also loved the idea behind the Katagarians and Arcadians, Sanctuaries and Were-Hunters! Woah! I immediately ordered another two books in this series (which is why I'm so pissed that they still haven't send the parcel even though its shipping date was October 2nd :/). I think I might have found another favorite author! 5 stars out of 5!
