Road to Perdition

I bought this DVD cheap last weekend. And not because of Tom Hanks or Paul Newman or even Jude Law and Daniel Craig - but because of teeny tiny Tyler Hoechlin. Who was absolutely rocking amazing in this movie. I just adored his smile but also his aloofness after what he had seen, after he had found his mother and his brother murdered. My heart broke for him and kept breaking the whole movie long. I don't usually like movies about children but his Michael was amazing!I also loved the relationship between Michael and his father. The scene where Michael said to his father that he knew his father was blaming him for everything that happened, for the death of his mother and his brother... Or the one where Michael asked if his father loved his little brother, Peter, more than him because he never showed any affection to Michael, because he treated him differently... That was wonderful. Tom Hanks and Tyler Hoechlin were wonderful. This is a movie about the mob but the father-son relationship is at the heart of it.
And when you think that all, everything that happened could've been avoided if Paul Newman's character just gave up his good for nothing son... But no. He kept protecting the coward, even though it meant innocent people, people he considered family kept dying. Now that's a cowardice right there.
Definitely worth watching. I liked it a lot, though the ending was quite sad. But I felt that Michael came out of it a stronger person...
