katikatI love that Ethan is actually falling for Danny. I loved the bit about Danny's medical condition, that Ethan offered him a way to get rid of his scars and when Danny said no, that they made him feel like a survivor. And I loved that Ethan said he hoped Danny really was a survivor. Aww...
Lydia and Stiles saved everyone. LOL! The two least physically capable characters saved every frickin' werewolf, the alfa included. Awesome. It made me wonderfully giddy. I really adore their friendship and I hope it deepens as the season goes...
I didn't mind Derek/Jennifer. It was wonderfully gentle - just like Danny and Ethan's scene - and I know that people now complain about Jennifer's "magical healing vagina" but I really don't think it was her who healed Derek. I think it was Derek himself, the fact that for a moment, he was really happy and free of torment and all burdens. Scott didn't heal until he stopped brooding because of Derek. And I think the same thing happened here. Derek simply let himself heal. Though I might be wrong. I wouldn't mind if Jennifer had some healing power of her own. So, no hate towards this pairing in this journal.
But the best scene of all, Scott and Stiles. I loved that they let Stiles talk Scott out of committing suicide, that they didn't go down the "love conquers all" route and let Allison do it, that was wonderful! When Scott told Stiles that they used to be nobodies, they weren't popular, they weren't good at lacrosse... And when Stiles told him that Scott was his friend, his brother, that he needed him... And when he then stepped into the puddle and told Scott that if Scott wanted to die, he would have to take Stiles with him... ;_; For the first time in a long time I actually felt their friendship and it was glorious.
And then Lydia saved them both. I just loved that she tackled them and then covered Stiles with her body. That was amazing. Have I mentioned just how much I adore Stiles and Lydia this season?
And then the twist with Gerard! Sheesh on a pogo stick! I didn't expect that at all!
As much as I adore slash and ship Stiles/Derek in fanfics, I really love Scott/Allison, Stiles/Lydia and Derek/Jennifer. All three pairings are adorable!
Oh, and the music in this episode. THE MUSIC! Gabriel Bruce's Sleep Paralysis? Gosh, I need to get my paws on his music. What a voice!
