Penelope is a wonderful magical tale about...

... A cursed girl with a birth defect on her face (Christina Ricci) and...

... A down on his luck young gambler who falls in love with her (James McAvoy).
It's so beautiful! I didn't expect it to be so amazing and now I'm smitten. I felt so sorry for both Penelope and Johnny, both unhappy and screwed up in a different way. I had tears in my eyes during some scenes.
* When Johnny and Penelope played chess through the mirror.
* When Johnny realized that he was in love with Penelope but couldn't break the curse, when she asked him to marry her and he told her he couldn't.
* When Johnny returned the money to the reporter and told him that Penelope wasn't some circus freak to be exploited.
* When the reporter came to find Johnny and Johnny told him why he couldn't marry Penelope.
* When Penelope realized that she loved herself the way she was.
* When Penelope found out who Johnny was and came searching for him.
* When the reporter rowed closer in that tiny boat of his and wanted to take a picture of Johnny and Penelope and realized he... couldn't, that it was their private moment and he was intruding and it was wrong.
And so many awesome actors! Reese Whiterspoon, Richard E. Grant, Catherine O'Hara, Burn Gorman...
Oh, and I didn't know that James McAvoy and Simon Woods (Edward) were together in Starter for 10 where there was also Benedict Cumberbatch who was with James McAvoy in Atonement (where there was Keira Knightley who was with Simon Woods in Pride and Prejudice - and with Michael Fassbender in A Dangerous Method). LOL! The British movie scene feels almost... incestuous XD I love it!
