Josh Lanyon's books do things to me, peeps. They, like, push all my buttons. And this one's no exception. Neither Swift, nor Max are perfect - far from it actually - yet you can't help but love them. Josh Lanyon's strength really lies in his ability to write flawed, yet immensely likable and intriguing characters. What I found most interesting was the description of Swift's cocaine addiction, his cravings that hit him unexpectedly, even though he had been on the mend for 6 years - and I loved that, as judgmental as Max sometimes was, he was more than willing to help Swift, to do whatever it was he needed to help him cope. Wonderful.
