Seriously?

Look who's guest starring in SGU's S2.

David Hewlett and Robert Picardo. Link. No, just no. Not even for McKay will I go anywhere near that show, sorry. Honestly, I'm disappointed that David took the part. After the less than dignified treatment the cast and crew of SGA got from the execs, after the way the execs pulled SGA and the actors through the mud... If he were a struggling actor, I might understand that but... I think I prefer Joe Flanigan's attitude, thank you very much.

I can see why he took the part- hes never been precious about the roles he does, a job's a job, after all. And I think he wants to continue making movies for syfy, so he needs to get on their good side.

Also, Joe's pretty seriously independantly wealthy, and David.. isn't.

Not that that means I'll be watching, of course!

You know, I always wondered about that. Joe's money doesn't come from his acting job, does it? And he does seem to be pretty well off, doesn't he?

I believe he's linked to one of the big American brewing companies, possibly Budweiser? But yes, I don't think he acts to eat.

edit: Yes, I just checked, he's family's money is from beer and oil!

Wow, no wonder he can afford a villa in Malibu! :P

Huh, I knew about the beer connection, not the oil. I think his wife's family is link to a huge shipping company. Except for the expensive pad, the man does not flaunt his wealth and he wears clothes sometimes that look like they come from a thrift store and I love that about the guy.

With David doing movies for Sy Fy, I can see why he's doing it, although I wish he wouldn't go back to the those who traded away his cast. I hope he gets a lot of money for it.

That's a relief. Now I know I won't even be tempted to tune in.

Ugh!! I can understand Robert Picardo, Woolsey was always more of a guest star on Atlantis (in my mind, at least!), but Hewlett? At least Joe isn't guest-starring, too, so I won't feel obliged to watch!

He's just so... normal! He builds his wife a studio, he builds a dirt bike track, he wants to become a bee-keeper...

I won't watch it. I mean, from what I heard, they already dumbed down Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson, even Sam Carter had to look not as smart next to Rush. I don't even want to know what they'll do with Rodney - he IS the guy who came up with the wormhole drive, after all.

I think it's too bad that David will be in it. SGA's McKay so does not fit SGU. The one from SG-1 would have fit perfectly. But the one from Atlantis? No way, no how. I really dread what they'll do to his character. Won't be watching it :(

Yeah, I also don't get how they want to fit McKay in without making him utterly stupid - after all, he used to solve problems of the Destiny proportions on a daily basis.
