Audrey rules!

Stuff I liked:

* Audrey is rocking awesome! So level-headed and open-minded. And her dead-pan humor rules!

* Nathan is quite intriguing himself.

* I love the atmosphere. And the music. I'm smitten with it!

Stuff I didn't like:

* The episodic stuff could be better, but at least this one was a step up from the pilot.

Loved these quotes:

Audrey: Alright, the first question is: Why is there a giant metal ball?
Nathan: Everyone knows that ball.
Audrey: *looks* A second question: There's a ball everyone knows about?

Nathan: Every year high school seniors try and steal it, fail, pick something else.
Audrey: And they fail because...?
Nathan: It's a... big bronze ball?

Audrey: What did I do on my vacation? I was cocooned by a blanket.

Audrey: Crap! This is gonna suck!

I'm liking this show more and more!

I'm definitely liking it more, too! The whole conversation about the ball outside the Rustbucket was hilarious. And I'm intrigued as to what's going on with the Chief in regards to Audrey. Like, he obviously knows something, or else he probably wouldn't be pushing her to stay. Hopefully this mythology arc with Audrey's mother will be interesting.

I love how... unfazed Nathan is by everything. Yeah, there's a giant ball sitting in the middle of the bar. So?

This series feels like a little more atmospheric Eureka.

Nathan, yes! He's just so deadpan, I love him! I mean, those "troubles" that he mentioned from the past must've really changed his perspective on things. Giant ball? Yeah, okay. Butterflies as harbingers of impossible things? Sure, why not.

Yeah, I keep getting that Eureka feel (back when Eureka was still good and not quite so bad-crazy -- as opposed to its former good-crazy), as well as hints of The X-Files (of course). And you mentioned Twin Peaks, but I can't say because I've never actually seen it (much to my detriment, I'm sure).

Let's just say that Twin Peaks leaves a lasting impression. Like with the midget dancing in the room with the red velvet curtains. Or Bob. Or the crazy lady who talked to a piece of wood. Or Agent Cooper (Kyle McLachlan) himself.

I stopped watching Eureka after they killed Nathan and started shipping everybody. Carter and Allison, Zoƫ and her boyfriend, Jo and her Marty-Sue... It was SGA's S5 all over again.

The beginning of your comment confuses me enough that I will one day watch Twin Peaks.

I stopped watching Eureka at the same time, both because Nathan was my favourite character and because the show had been getting worse. Sadness. I actually just watched a few minutes of the last two episodes, and wow. Stop retconning yourself, Eureka! Make one timeline of events and stick with it, for better or worse! Gods. I kinda wish I could rewrite it from the beginning because the premise had potential and there were some great parts, but it's just downright ridiculous now. Like, even moreso than usual.

Take a peek at this dancing midget from Twin Peaks. Yeah, it's that nuts, the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36_vlZha7bg

*blinks* Huh. Wow. See, I've wondered about Twin Peaks ever since I heard David Duchovny played a transvestite/transgendered character on it. Because I am shallow and might still be harboring the remnants of the middle school crush I've had on him since I started watching The X-Files. (To be fair, I still have a crush on Gillian Anderson.)
