SPN meme - day 18

Day 18 - Your favorite SPN romance

Sam and Sarah in S1's Provenance. It's not that I didn't like Sam and Jessica but we haven't really "seen" them as a couple. And Sarah rocked my socks. Even Dean agreed! And the actress was so incredibly cute, especially when she had the giggles.

The rest... )

LotR, the Extended Edition...

... Is now mine! Mwahaha ;P Pretty, pretty box. I can't wait to see the movies and all the extras, 12 DVDs altogether!

Oh, my "friends in the know", how old is actually Legolas? I perused the net and found a wiki page about Legolas where it's said that:

* "Though neither Legolas' age nor his birthdate are directly given in Tolkien's writings, some passages indicate he is far older than Aragorn and Gimli," that he calls them "children" and that Gimli and Aragorn are "139 and 87 respectively" at the time of the War of the Ring.
* It also says that "in one of the official film guidebooks, a birthdate for Legolas is set to 87 of the Third Age" which would make him 2931 years old at the time of the War of the Ring and "coincidentally or not, the Appendices to The Lord of the Rings give Aragorn's year of birth as T.A. 2931."
* And then there's another figure, given in Top Trumps cards for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, "with the card for Legolas stating his age at 7000, making him older than Elrond."

So, is there a consensus of some sort in the fandom?

I think I know...

... What my biggest problem with Hawaii 5-0 is. I think that Alex O'Loughlin is an arrogant ass. There, I said it. I'm sorry, fans, but that's how I see him. And his latest comment cemented my opinion of him: "The week-to-week stuff is boring, formulaic. For some reason, people tune in because they can tune out when they tune in. The arc is the stuff we love as actors." Is he for real? Well, I'm sorry if you find the week-to-week stuff boring, Mr. O'Loughlin, but that's not a way to talk about your own show.

Alexander

I have a huge soft spot for the movie Alexander with Colin Farrell and Jared Leto as Alexander and Hephaistion respectively. The film itself is nothing special, even boring in places, but Farrell and Leto... Wow, just... WOW! Seriously. They looked so... natural together!

My favorite vids: Exhibit A & Exhibit B.

Alexander and Hephaistion are the epitome of male love. Consider them gay or not, I think it's indisputable that they had deep, deep feelings for each other and the fact that Alexander died only 8 months after Hephaistion...

Man, I would love to read a fantasy book like that, about a magnificent ruler with a gay lover. But the closest I came was with Fiona Patton's "The Stone Prince", which was A-amazing. I would even take a really, really close, "I would die without you!" friendship...

Watching due South

Spy vs. Spy: This must be the craziest episode of the whole show! Fraser on the stage with the ballet-dancers, then on the pegasus! Getting rave reviews in the newspapers! The poor guy with the broken radio. OMG! Who came up with such a crazy stuff?! LOL!

Dead Guy Running: The best episode YET! I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes! I loved the black teenager who was helping them with the body! Frannie's story about Ray, aww... Fraser's absolute conviction that RayV didn't kill the guy - not because RayV wasn't capable of murder but because he wasn't capable of such a cruel murder. Frannie's "I can de-bone a whole chicken in under three minutes." Fraser's "Oh dear" was epic! That episode was perfect!
