A Good Day to Die Hard

Went to see A Good Day to Die Hard today. And it was really good. The action was superb, especially the car chase at the beginning. Wow, so many cars smashed. And the surprising twist! Gosh, I didn't expect that at all. But the best thing?

The best thing was Jai Courtney! Jack Reacher and now this, I hope his career in action movies takes off because he looks awesome kicking ass! I loved his character's, Jack's, relationship with his father, Bruce Willis' John McClane. But once again, when you put an action star of old next to someone who can actually act - see the old cast of The Expendables and Liam Hemsworth in TE2 - you realize just how... hammy their acting is. And Jai Courtney definitely is a better actor than Bruce Willis, so...

Conclusion: Worth seeing, peeps, especially in the cinema. The action is breathtaking!

ETA: Another thing I loved... )

We also saw several trailers...

Olympus Has Fallen - thumbs up! I'll be definitely seeing this one! I don't like Aaron Eckhart but I love Gerard Butler. Also, this looks right up my alley.
Spring Breakers - no, just... no.
The Evil Dead - heck no!
The Heat - Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Worth a look - but on DVD only, I think.

Neverwhere

All episodes of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere are now available here: link.

The cast was amazing! Especially Natalie Dormer surprised me, she has such a wonderful voice!

The story itself though, I found it quite... boring? Dragged out? Tedious? It reminded me a lot of Simon R. Green's "Nightside" but "Nightside" is way more interesting. I guess, Neil Gaiman just isn't a writer for me? I like his ideas, the execution less so?
