Minami Ozaki's "Zetsuai 3-5" (manga), #138-140

Vol. 3: I find Koji's obsession with Izumi fascinating - if creepy - and it's too bad that it's not more focused. The story seems rather all over the place. Also, I'm not a big fan of sports so all the soccer scenes are kind of boring for me.

I also liked the stand alone story at the end. Too bad it just skimmed the surface, that it didn't go deeper into the friendship between the two main characters, there was a lot of potential there.

Vol. 4: The best volume yet, all about Koji and Izumi, no stand alone stories. I'm glad that the author stepped up the tension between the boys. It's fascinating, the way they drive each other crazy. They can't be apart but when they're together, they are destroying each other. This manga is definitely not for faint-hearted people.

Vol. 5: 3.5 stars but only because there's yet again a stand alone story in this volume that has nothing to do with the main pairing, Koji and Izumi. I was glad to see that the boys finally gave in to their feelings and realized that they just couldn't be separated. When they're together, they are hurting only each other. When they're apart, they hurt people around them too, not just each other. Their relationship is obsessive, abusive and dark, but also incredibly fascinating because of that.

4 more books to go and I'll meet the 144 in 2010 challenge!

Minami Ozaki's "Zetsuai Vol. 2" (manga), #50

I think that every yaoi manga lover knows the name Koji Nanjo - he's the epitome of obsessiveness. He wants Takuto Izumi and he will do anything to get him. It's quite scary, actually. On the other hand, there's one thing that I simply love about this manga: For six years, Koji was in love with Izumi - thinking that Izumi was a girl. Now he finds out that Izumi is a boy but instead of going all "Eww, gross", it doesn't change a thing for Koji. Izumi is Izumi, no matter the gender. And that's quite refreshing, the fact that Koji loves the person Izumi. But other than that it's quite a dark manga.

New layout

I have a new layout! A Gambit one! I love that picture, so I blurred the background to make Gambit stand out even more. Nifty!

And today, I bought four gay movies for not even 10 bucks, Shelter among them. I'm rather curious about that one.

Also, to practice my German skills, I'm reading manga at the moment - as you probably noticed. I just couldn't get into "Nosferas". So Minami Ozaki's "Zetsuai Vol. 2" it is :)

Merlin 1x05, Zetsuai

You know, I haven't enjoyed a real fantasy series this much since... Xena, I guess. Merlin is... just really good!

My spoilery thoughts... )

I'm quite happy with this series! It's my feel!good, slashy show *vbg*

Hey, I finally managed to get my hands on Minami Ozaki's "Zetsuai 1-5". I ordered parts 2 and 3 from Amazon.de (vols. 1, 4 and 5 were totally sold out) and the rest via CarlsenManga (vols. 2 and 3 were sold out there)! That manga is a yaoi classic!
