They ARE serious!

According to Stargate TPTB, rape is a "moral dilemma"!

"As for the Eleanor/Camile body swapping episode specifically, he told me sex between bodies (i.e. body swapping) is introduced early in the series, and is an ongoing moral dilemma on the show with serious moral consequences, and this event is no different." Link

The characters on the show will, more than once, use someone else's body to have sex! MORE. THAN. ONCE! The body of someone who never consented to let them use their body for sex in the first place. If that's not rape, I will eat my hat. And they think it's a "moral dilemma"? It's a CRIME FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

If I ever had any notion to watch the show, they squashed it now totally. They couldn't make the characters more unlikable if they wanted to. I think I'm going to be sick.

I just can't wrap my head around the fact that they label it a "moral issue". Rape is a crime and if the characters aren't put on trial and sentenced to prison, I can't see any real consequences.

Oh, I'm sure they'll feel really bad about it - for all of the two minutes before the show moves on to another storyline.

A moral dilemma? Like, cheating on a test?

I know they said they wanted darker like BSG but there was rape on BSG and it was presented as awful and soul-destroying and a CRIME. So, I'm not sure where they get their inspiration from, frat-boy central of "no means yes"? *headdesk*

Oh, and I also love some of the comments in the GW forum's thread for that particular episode. When I posted a similar comment like the one above, I was told that I obviously already made up my mind, that I couldn't be sure that the sex was without Camile's - the "owner" of the body - consent. Are they for real? They really want to tell me that a lesbian would allow a strange person to get their rocks off in her body with a man? That any person would give such consent to anybody? So either its rape or they are turning the ship into a brothel where it's free sex for all, there's no other explanation. And this theme will appear repeatedly?

Excuse me while I go vomit.

They are obviously want to shock people with their 'dark and gritty' storyline because remember this is just fantasy, people!

O.O o.O O.o O.O
