Jensen in a movie! :)

Jensen Ackles set for 'Bloody Valentine'": In helmer Patrick Lussier's remake of the 1981 slasher film, Ackles will play Tom, a handsome, principled man who returns to his home in Harmony, Mo., 10 years after 22 people were murdered on Valentine's night. Back in Montana, Tom finds he still is smitten with his first love, Sarah (Jaime King), and is now a murder suspect.

Great! That sounds really good and I'm crossing my fingers here that he gets this role *crosses fingers*

But the fans are starting to piss me off like you wouldn't believe it. First they totally dissed and bashed Jared's new movie without frickin' seeing it, now they are saying even worse things about Jensen's new role. Yes, it's much better for him to star in independent movies like TIH that won't even get to cinemas and the execs have troubles finding anyone seriously interested in bringing it out at least on DVD (I have nothing against TIH, from what I heard it's a cool movie and I would adore to see it, but it didn't do Jensen's career much good so far since it's still a con/festival thing only).

Be happy for Jensen! This will put him in spotlight. And stop complaining until you actually saw the frickin' movie!

Lovely news for Jensen! Sure, indies are cool enough, but they don't necessarily make a career either... that is, not if no-one actually sees the film in the first place. I'm really happy he played in TIH and would love to see it in a theater and I'd definitely buy the DVD but things aren't exactly looking up on that front, so I'm glad he might have the opportunity to play in another film.

Thing is, Jensen or Jared, I'll support their work. Because I just love those guys *g* I'll always hope they get the opportunity to really show their talent, in films that please them, but I don't think I'll ever start dissing them or their work, a) because, dude, who am I to diss them? And b) because I'm a fan, man, so I'll be here even if the films suck ;-)

Now this is my applesauce worth of it all. I would have still gone OHHHHH NOOES about the remake of Friday 13th, Jared or not, because of the remaking of horror films in the last 10 years have been shocking. The need to remake so many old films is now getting to be quite silly- however- I will ALWAYS give it a go. House of Wax suprised me (at that point I wasn't even aware who Jared WAS) and I thought Paris technically was a good(ish) actress in that, so there- you know, you cant bash it til you seen it. DeVour I watched ONLY because of Jensen and I thought it was pants. I loved the special affects in it though and the editing in it was really quite amazing. I take the good from the overall bad ;)

I am a huge horror buff, so I think my 'negative' view on these horror films isn't necessarily bashing them or the film itself but the hollywood driven emphasis to overdo/remake so many films and somewhat ruining them.

I have never seen TIH but I was getting fed up of the JENSEN IS SO HOT AND GOOD IN IT. I know he's a good actor but I wanted a balance of what works for the film and what doesn't. I've heard its quite cliched and way too many stories going on- but till I see it (I have a feeling I probably wont for YEARS because of the HARDCORE WORSHIP of it)

I also get fed up with some fans thinking you're not a good 'fan' if you dont want eveyrthing they're in or give a slight bad review on it. It's a matter of taste but at the end of the day, the sun doesn't shine out of their arses and they're human. I think it's great to be able to watch something and give a balanced review on it, acting/actor and all. :)

I know Jensen has the chance to be hollywood film star potential - but i think television is where he will probably remain, unless he gets a lucky break in a film that does well. Jared however, despite having not so 'handsome hollywood' style looks (which I think WORKS so much better for him- I'm not saying he's ugly- far from it, in fact, i think Jensen can be too over pretty/handsome) Jared is obviously stepping into the film side a little more than Jensen, personally, to me, that's what I think.

I am happy that Jensen is doing this, because it obviously liked the script and it seems to be such a good crew involved. Will it be good? Hopefullyl they can take a really good stab at it and really make it a modern piece. I totally agree, there's no point really moaning that it will be shit until you seen it but with the remake of horor, i would think thats why people are being grumpy??

Personally I would love Jensen to step out of that genre, I know he did with TIH but its not like that's a film everone can see. I think he could really rock it from playing someone that isn't the 'classic hero' or 'good boyfriend'. We've seen this from him. Let him play a badass or support to a really good lead in a film. That's where he could really shine! :)

JENSEN IN A HORROR MOVIE!!! \o/

I dislike remakes as a rule, especially remakes of horror movies because that is my genre, yo. And the remakes are never as good as the original, and just the idea of remaking something someone has already done make me lose a little respect for the director, producers and writers of said remakes because they fail at coming up with there own ideas. Don't even get me started on the scene by scene remake of Psycho *shudders*

But I am over coming my feelings of a Friday 13 remake for Jared, because it's JARED and I love him. And now Jensen's going to be in one too? That is awesome for him, but another remake *sigh* oh boys

I don't get it, people were complaining that Jensen wasn't really doing many projects and now they are complaining because he is. People are stoopid.

Not being a huge film buff, I've no intention of commenting on whatever films either actor takes on, for better or for worse. I'm just happy for any exposure either one of them gets. Jared strikes me as being rather more career-minded than Jensen is, so I'm pleased to see Jensen taking on a new film role. He's seemed to prefer smaller projects recently, that he's taken on because the interested him rather than because they were a good career move - that's the reason I doubt he'll ever really move into films in a big way. But I could be reading them both completely wrong.

Anyway. I'm glad they are both taking on film roles and gaining exposure. Kinda wish they weren't horror, both, simply because I'm not a horror fan! But I wish them both every success.

Are there the same 'fans' who their hormones never get at ease? Maybe they would be happy if Jensen played a porn, i don't know anymore

Yay for Jensen!

Although I didn't enjoy Bloody Valenitine the first time...

I do wish Hollywood would start doing new Horror...

You know what? All I say is at least he's working, and if Tom Hanks can win an Oscar after starting out in Bosom Buddies, I'm sure Jensen can go just as far on the back of this and other less than 'perfect' roles. After all, George Clooney didn't really make it big until he was at least 35!

I don't get the remake hype, except for the potential to reach out to a new generation that can no longer appreciate the originals because... well... the early 80s are over. I'm friends with one of the EPs on Friday the 13th, and even though I'm not totally for it (*that* particular remake), I'm happy for him that he's got another huge project in the cooker.

But, on the other hand, I've enjoyed some of the remakes I've seen like Texas Chainsaw Massacre which also pretty much launched Jessica Biel's career. Prior to that she was hardly known. Remakes are serious launch pads for some of these people. So I think fans should back off and give them a chance. The point on these for Jared and Jensen is that they are wide release films. Jensen's not going to get discovered doing TIH type films or spending his summer on stage sharpening his chops. It sounds like Jared's example of whoring himself out finally rubbed off and Jensen's sucked it up and is going for it. I am personally thrilled.

Yay Jensen!! I'm really happy that the boys are doing films, but I don't know if I'll be able to go see them! I usually have to watch horror films at noon, with a friend and all the lights on!!!

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the horror genre actually, I love over the top tongue-in-cheek horror but the real psychological stuff freaks me out, but I'll probably end up watching both movies due to Jared and Jensen *g*! I wish Jensen the best of luck with whatever it does, but hopefully it will go better than David Boreanaz's foray into the movie world!
