Hehe, so, no one recognized from what manga the icon was. As I suspected. That's why I made this little quiz to point you in the direction of the scanlation of the wonderful manga "Demian Syndrome" by Mamiya Oki.

Summary taken from the Storm in Heaven site: Azuma and Takayama used to be really close friends as children, until one day Takayama disappears to the USA without telling Azuma. Unable to forget about Azuma, Takayama returns years later and enrolls in Azuma's school. He finds his old friend cold and unwilling to restart any kind of relationship... but why? Takayama is a light hearted, happy guy who gets along with everyone around, even though Azuma's odd behavior hurts him. Azuma is cool and distant, and seems not to care about anything around him...

It's wonderfully drawn and the story itself is really interesting. It's not as funny as the icon might suggest (it's just a little funny scene but I loved it so much that I just had to make an icon of it) and there is actually no real BL so far. It's more plot and emotion driven.

:D It's a really good manga. It caught my eye because I wrote my thesis about Hermann Hesse's "Demian" and the manga took some hints from the book. That's why it's called "The Demian Syndrome" :)

The picture is from the BL game Gakuen Heaven that was made into an anime now. Too bad that scenes like that aren't in the anime too *pouts* And yes, there is one volume of Gakuen Heaven. It was scanlated by Essence of Purity but it's an IRC download only. I could upload it for you if you want to :)

I've heard of Gakuen Heaven. I've downloaded the anime but haven't watched it yet. And there was one chapter of Gakuen Heaven for download on yaoi_daily but not the entire volume!

In the layout, the seme is the King (Niwa) and the main chara Keita. But I like them in different pairings. Niwa with Nakajima-san and Keita with Kazuki. I just loved the picture :D

Anou... the manga is very clear on canon pairing - Niwa/Keita. I'm wondering if the anime is different? You wrote on another post that Keita and Kazuki is the more obvious pairing. I don't see that at all in the manga.

I like the queen and 'her' knight. ^___^ And Kouji / Takuto. Subtle hints here but quite noticeable.

In the anime it's very different. Yes, there are some Niwa/Keita scenes. Just like there are some Nakajima/Keita, Takuto/Keita, Kouji/Keita... But the most obvious pairings are Kazuki/Keita, Kouji/Takuto and Kaoru/Omi. These three are like POSTER pairings. And there is nothing subtle about these three couples. It's like a fist in the eye :D
