don't be dull, be fannish ([personal profile] katikat) wrote2006-05-22 07:47 pm

Some things can irate me rather quickly

There is one thing that miffs me incredibly: When a person of English/American descent takes it as a matter of fact that EVERYBODY should speak English and especially on the net because otherwise THEY don't understand >:O

Another thing that irritated me today was the comment that the Shinsen admin posted when they uploaded the latest ep of Detective Academy Q. Again, they suggested that DAQ is about lollies and pedophilia. Hello? The whole lollies-fiasco that brought Vincent back is already forgotten? I'm not sure if it should've been joke or not but if it was so, it fell flat on its nose :(

I think the Shinsen thing is a probably a joke being make about the guy who eventually left Shinsen. He's the only person who had that problem with the series, as far as I know. I think most of the people who visit that particular forum probably understand what the comment is about.

At least that's how it looks to me.

I hope so too. I think that some people forget that on the net, it's hard to tell what's a joke and what's not. If the guy posted at least a ";-D" then it would be easy to tell, but this way...

Kinda wish you can ship them off to another country for a few years and see how they cope. -.-

English is an effing hard language to learn, especially when you're an immigrant. I'm glad my parents learned as much as they have.

Yeah, it's hard since everything is based on prepositions. But at least, you don't have "cases". We have 7!!! of them. You have Paul, without Paul, to Paul, Paul!... we have Paul, bez Paula, Paulovi, Paule! etc. X( Even Latin has "only" 6 cases!

xD

Well, I know I woulda've laughed if people started talking NORWEGIAN here. I like English more than Norwegian, thruth to be said. xD

I like Czech but then, I'm biased since it's my mother tongue. But it's so difficult - it's even more difficult than Latin since it's based on it X( But Norwegian sounds so cool! How do you say "good morning" (as in "Guten Tag" in German)?

[identity profile] phoenix13x5.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oohh, yes. Lucky you. You know two languages then..?

And good morning is God morgen. xD

Good = God

Morning = Morgen

xD

[identity profile] katikat.livejournal.com 2006-05-24 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, I speak German and English... and Czech or course :D

God Morgen, huh? Well, who would have thought that! ;P

[identity profile] phoenix13x5.livejournal.com 2006-05-26 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
xD whoa, three languages.. xD

And yeah, God morgen. xD Which fits right now; it's morning here. x3

*huggles* We are just jealous of your linguistic ability, petal. Try not to take it to heart.

I'm trying, I'm trying :) Linguistic ability, huh? *feels so proud* ;P
