Highlander: The Raven 101-108
I got this sudden craving to watch Highlander: The Raven again. I mean, I know that the actors, Paul Johanssen and Elizabeth Gracen, hated each other's guts but their performance is flawless and their chemistry out of this world! Just look at them:
Nick and Amanda are one of my top OTPs, hands down. Yeah, they bicker and banter and poke each other a lot - but there's this undeniable warmth between them, has been since the very moment we see them together, when Nick and his partner surprise Amanda in her tub and Amanda finds out Nick speaks French, to her obvious delight! And then she keeps saving his life, threatening bad guys with severe bodily harm if they even touch Nick, and Nick keeps covering for her with the cops, even helping her rob a museum and they are simply amazing together! And the way they touch each other so gently, the way she keeps kissing him so tenderly, not to seduce him, just for comfort and it's wonderful!
And then there's Lucy, Amanda's... well, best friend slash housekeeper who has been with her for dozens of years and always has her back - and she latches onto Nick, making him her duckling, too. And she keeps trying to get Amanda and Nick together! And Nick's always so warm and loving with her, kissing her cheek to say hello and good-bye and it's all around wonderful.
And the cinematography and the music... out of this world. Every episode makes you feel melancholy and bittersweet and all kinds of warm and fuzzy, too. Because, yeah, Nick and Amanda bicker and banter and steal stuff and kill people - and they look AWESOME in cat burglar black! - but the depth of affection they have for each other is simply stunning...
