So, according to Den of Geek -
link - Jason Statham turned down a part in
Fast & Furious 6 (or whatever the film will be called). And you know what? I'm actually glad. Why?
a) I never understood the hype surrounding him. I'm not bashing him, I'm not hating on him, I just don't particularly seek him out. He's just one action star out of many for me. There's simply nothing special about him. I don't think he would've added anything special to the film either, he wouldn't have made it extraordinary in any way.
b) There will already be Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson in FF6. Is it really necessary to add yet another butch guy? I know that this franchise is overflowing with testosterone, but I would prefer to keep the three main stars - Diesel, Johnson and Walker - and focus on them, not muddle the waters with another macho. FF5 is my favorite movie in the franchise, don't get me wrong, but there were way too many characters in it. I would prefer a smaller group of people in FF6.
So, yeah. My opinion? Couldn't care less *shrugs* For me, FF is about Dom and Brian, Diesel and Walker. Everybody else is canon fodder.
