Book #91-93

"Mind Reader (PsyCop #2.3)" by Jordan Castillo Price

3 stars out of 5

I love Victor. I love how he deals or doesn't deal with his ability to see ghosts. And this was pretty neat, him and the mummies. If it weren't for Crash, I would have given it 4 stars. Also, I would've preferred to see Victor visit the museum with Jacob, to see Jacob geek out about the mummies. Oh well...

"Many Happy Returns (PsyCop #2.2)" by Jordan Castillo Price

1 star out of 5

I'm pretty ambiguous about Crash in the books - pierced/tattooed/goth characters are not my thing. But until now, I have never considered him a slut. Well, now I do. I don't find one-night-stands or unprotected sex with strangers - hey, it's not just HIV, peeps! - hot. This made feel dirty, not hot and bothered. Meh.

"Alpha, Omega (Alpha Omega #1)" by Cassandra Gold, Beth Wylde

3 stars out of 5

A cute short story about two mated were-lions, the alpha and the omega of the Pride, and about the time they switched their usual roles in bed. A bit too sweet and sugary for my taste but it did intrigue me enough to want to read more about these two.

Book #94-95

"Consequences" by Lissa Kasey

4 stars out of 5

A short story about a vampire and a were-lynx. Sexy, sweet and funny. I especially loved the part where Gabriel threatened to neuter lynx Sei! And the cuddling! Aww...

"Tree Hugger" by Julia Talbot

4 stars out of 5

So funny! A short story about Dorian, a werewolf on the run, and Ash, a dryad. I laughed out loud more than once. Seriously, a tree-like spirit and a shaggy were having sex! It was really sweet. And funny!

Marple: The Moving Finger

This one was a little different, told almost entirely from the point of view of Jerry Burton, a young man who came to this lovely little village with his sister to enjoy some peace and quiet after a motorbike accident *snorts* Peace and quiet? Not likely!

You know, dead bodies and funerals should not be funny, but when they were burying the THIRD body already, I really had to laugh because it reminded me of that hilarious The Persuaders ep where someone was killing off Brett's relatives. And with quotes like...

Elsie: Yesterday afternoon, we were having tea with Mr. Symmington up in the school room and all the time, Mr. Burton, that poor girl was squashed in that cupboard, dead as a dodo!

How I can take a murder seriously when someone compares the dead girl to the extinct dodo bird? LOL!

And I loved that yet again there was a gay subplot and Miss Marple not only didn't mind, she was actually really sad that spoilers! )

This was also based on the only Miss Marple book that I read - not that I remembered much about it, it's been years - in Czech it's called "Není kouře bez ohýnku" ("There's no smoke without a fire").

And in this part, I knew two actresses: Kelly Brook (Victoria Hardwicke in Smallville) and Emilia Fox (Morgause in Merlin).
