No. Just no.

SpoilerTV posted the CW's 2010-2011 schedule that Variety reported - and according to that schedule, Supernatural won't start airing until mid-season? Well, fuck. Seriously. I hope that it's just something that Variety made up, not the real leaked schedule, because that would seriously suck. I thought that the move to Friday, where it would air with Smallville, would be bad but holding the show back until January or February? No. Just no!

ETA: And obviously, it was Variety's spin - their other speculations posted here - but I still tweeted the CW asking about that, it's always better to hear it from the big boss - hm, I wonder if they respond...

I thought Friday would be better for the ratings because all these sports events happen on Thursday and make our ratings worse.
But then the midseason shit? Crap!

I really do hope that it was just Variety spinning. I think that Smallville and Supernatural combo could work on Friday. Definitely better than Smallville and ANTM repeats.

I don't really think that's right. For one, it has One Tree Hill on the schedule, and I keep hearing that it's going the way of the dodo. Its biggest star (who's left, Sophia Bush) just got another show.

It looks like that Variety article is assuming Betwixt/Changelings would start early in the season on Thursdays, and then have Supernatural start mid-season on Thursdays. I think what's more likely is for the CW to just have it on Fridays after Smallville...

I don't think so either, it wouldn't make much sense. It just really irked me beyond belief. I mean, SPN still is the networks 2nd most viewed scripted show.

But I agree that Changelings will most likely take over the Thur. 9pm slot and SPN will move to Fri. 9pm. Changelings with its high school paranormal romancy stuff fits better with TVD than SPN. SPN fits much better together with the audience of SV, I think, especially now that SV isn't about high school or college students. I think that SV and SPN are the most mature shows on the CW.

Yeah, I can't imagine a scenario in which SPN gets held to midseason. Although, you know, running 22 episodes straight would probably help the ratings a lot - it usually does with shows that tend to drop after long hiatuses. I don't think that'll happen though.

Well, I don't think TVD lacks maturity - I like Smallville, but TVD is a far more interesting show at this point. :P I like TVD a lot. The mythology is really interesting, it's actually scary, and I'm madly in love with the "evil" brother, Damon. *hopeless* Also I'm a sucker for effed-up brotherly dynamics... :D
