I don't *mind* that's Walter's typically cold and fact-focused. What bothers me is that they go really bipolar with that message. It's almost as bad as the Spock-syndrome in season 3 of Trek. They pound into our heads that This Character Does Not Have/Use/Feel/Base Decisions on Emotion.
Then every other episode is all about them being emotional. Walter goes and breaks coffee mugs and tackles the hacker guy in the biohacking ep. He gets in an argument with Toby when he's (Walter's) in jail and he's disappointed that Toby can't get him out. He resets the phone hacker to keep dancing with Paige. He sneaks around behind Paige's back to find ammo to use against Ralph's father, to keep him out of the picture...
It just gets to a point where I'd really like them to stop pretending they have an UNemotional character and realize that what they truly have is an emotionally IMMATURE character, and just run with it. It'll work just fine.
