Yes, I'm annoyed. How did you guess? There's a Sherlock Holmes movie on TV right now, the one where Sherlock is portrayed by Christopher Lee. And honestly, I was more than slightly irked when I saw this movie's Dr. John Watson. Why?
Because it's your usual slow, fat, slightly dumb guy with a mustache and a benign smile - again! Come on! Someone, a long time ago, cast a guy who looked like that in the role and since then, every movie/series just copied the type! It's like with Holmes and that stupid hat of his! Whoever came up with that one, should've been kicked in the nuts, really *huffs*
Boy, you can't even imagine how grateful I am that the character of John Watson is portrayed by Jude Law and Martin Freeman in its latest incarnations. I love, really love the way John Watson was reinvented.
I mean, I know what Doyle's Watson is like, I'm reading the short stories now, but come on! Do we really need 20 mirror copies of one product?
